About the therapist
Mag. Beni-Udenka Chiagozie, Mag.pth.
Psychotherapist · Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
I am a psychotherapist in Vienna with an academic background in psychology and psychotherapy and specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
My professional journey has brought together psychology, psychotherapy and work with people from diverse backgrounds. This has shaped how I understand people—not simply through symptoms or diagnoses, but within the context of their experiences, relationships, identity, culture and the life they are trying to build.
Having lived and worked across different cultural contexts myself, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work. I understand how migration, belonging, family expectations and adapting to different cultures can influence how people experience themselves, their relationships and the world around them.
I have a deep interest in understanding why people think, feel and behave the way they do. Alongside my clinical work, I write and speak about psychology, relationships, personal development and human behaviour.
My style is warm, thoughtful and direct. I value conversations that create clarity, deepen self-understanding and lead to meaningful, practical change.

Therapeutic approach
Understanding plus practical change
My primary method is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT looks at the relationship between thoughts, emotions, behaviour, physical reactions and life circumstances. Rather than treating symptoms alone, we find the patterns that keep a difficulty in place and build practical ways of changing them.
Where it helps, the work also draws on trauma-informed approaches, psychoeducation, emotional regulation strategies, behavioural interventions, mindfulness-based techniques and acceptance-oriented work.
Therapy with me is collaborative and structured while staying personal. We work out what is happening, where the pattern came from, what keeps it running, and what can realistically change. The goal is not only to feel better during therapy but to keep the skills afterwards.
